Foundation LAILA operates through

We recognise that early support for both families and children is crucial for a child’s development. Our programs focus on engaging stakeholders and providing tailored interventions that lay a strong foundation for future success.
The goal of the project is to provide children with developmental disabilities, their parents, teaching assistants, teachers, and professional associates from the Brčko District area with accessible didactic material and professional literature that isnecessary for child development.
This project facilitated the monitoring of the therapist’s work and the intensification of the individual work of parents and children at home with professional counselling.
Providing support to over 100 parents and professional staff who registered in Didactic Library and have the opportunity to borrow various didactic toys and books.
We invite individuals, Government representatives and other organisations to join Foundation LAILA in our mission to enhance the lives of children with Down Syndrome and their families, creating an inclusive and welcoming society.
The Foundation is committed to addressing the gaps in services and supports for young people with Down Syndrome, across the life span. To achieve our mission, we seek meaningful partnerships with individuals, government bodies, businesses, and community organisations.

100% of all donations and funding go directly toward supporting individuals with Down Syndrome. This includes access to additional speech therapy, occupational therapy, didactic materials, educational support, and other essential interventions that help children and young adults engage fully in their school, communities and daily life. The Foundation actively fills gaps in existing support systems and advocates for long‑term inclusion and opportunity. This upcoming collection features ten inspiring stories told through the eyes of ten children with Down syndrome, each sharing their unique experiences as part of the Foundation Laila family. Their voices illuminate the beauty of diversity, the power of belonging, and the joy of seeing the world from perspectives often overlooked.

Foundation LAILA is committed to incorporating the perspectives of young people, establishing a Youth Council to ensure that youth voices are integral in guiding the Foundation’s programs.
Comprised of a diverse group, including both individuals with Down Syndrome and their peers, the Youth Council enhances social integration and advocacy. A designated Youth Representative from the council serves on our Board, providing a direct conduit for insights into service delivery and community initiatives that support the rights and needs of young people with Down Syndrome.
This council not only strengthens program relevance but also cultivates future leaders with a profound understanding of and commitment to the Foundation’s mission.
